Bonjour Paris!

Blog update: Due to extremely busy weeks, mid semester illness, and extremely shotty internet Ellen and I have been rather lax on our blog duties, our apologies. But here it is (fingers crossed)... the long awaited and much anticipated Paris post.

(Clara and Ellen with their much-needed Parisian Starbucks!)

We arrived in Paris after an early (think 4 a.m. early) flight and then continued on towards our hotel, after much debate and much concern as to which metro to take- my New York subway skills finally got to be used again, yay! Our hotel, Hotel Eugenie, was quaint, comfortable and had a very friendly (albeit clueless) staff.

The most delicious crepes in the entire world. Period.

We stayed in the latin quarter (perfect location) and passed by Notre Dame everyday on our way to sightseeing! This is us on the first day headed to Saint Chapelle to pick up our musuem passes (thanks to the suggestion from our wonderful European tour guide Rick Steve's).

The Seine.

Magnum bars outside Saint Chapelle.

At the Louvre! Tres incredibles!

The crowd staring at the Mona Lisa was more fascinating than the painting itself.

Ellen taking a break from the Louvre (Clara is currently lost inside the top floor at this moment, searching for Nordic paintings).
In the Touilleries.

Escargot! (One of the few pictures from this night due to a hurried dress and dash to the restaurant- I have a bit of an issue reading military time whoops!).

Ellen outside of Musee D'Orsay on Saturday (my absolute favorite! Clara and Ellen had to literally drag me out).

We had to get a Chi O pic duh! (directly across from this building we stumbled upon a gallery with original Salvador Dalis, one of the best finds of the whole trip).

The Monet museum.

"I want to step out, down the Champs Elysees, from the Arch of Triumph to the Petit Palais!"

At the Galeries Lafayette (where Ellen got a chic new birthday dress and I got a French bob!) This is the Paris version of Harrod's, so large that once I was done at the salon, I had to use the welcome desk intercom to find "Eh-len and Cah-lura". (Yes, I'm that girl).

Ellen's 21st at the Eiffel Tower! Tres magnifique!

Sunday morning mass at Notre Dame.

The great American tourists headed to the Marais district (aka home of vintage Paris and the best falafels in the world).

Ellen saying Au Revoir to the city of lights and the most incredible weekend ever.
